EDIT: In case you’re wondering why I’m asking
- I like seeing BIG NUMBERS and I trick myself into thinking that crits are essentially free ticks of fantastic
- I normally maintain~90%+ mastery uptime on progression fights (just H Madness left)
- I think it would be funsies

The Oatmeal: Is it just a Steam thing?
I don’t really play console games, but when I used to play xbox 360 what I heard inside my headset was primarily “OMG FAG FUCK YOU DIE FAGNIGGER ASSPICKLE COCKTHUNDER FAG ASSPICKLE etc,” or some variation thereof.
I started playing on Steam about a year ago, and people who speak into their mics…
Honestly, I thought the comic was funny— not because it’s super-mega-ultra true or anything, but just because the particular flavor of desperation he illustrates is amusing.
As for the backlash against the comic: hypersensitivity abounds on the Internet and I’m kind of sad that The Oatmeal got hit with the Whambulance, but he definitely went above and beyond what he needed to do to clear the air. So, kudos to you, Mr. Inman!
Other people just need to loosen up.
